Shane and I started the session meeting at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center with his mom and dad. These are the classic photos that every Aggie has at some point, usually when they order their Aggie ring if not for graduation. We realized a little later that we were on campus the same time as the makeup graduations for the class of 2020. After some family photos, we headed over to the Corps of Cadet arches.
Before Shane went into the dorms to change, his mom requested some detail shots. HECK YEAH!!!! Shane did a quick change, and we all headed over to the Academic Building. While we waited, Shane’s mom shared his high school senior photos. She also showed me some fun photos of her oldest son from when he graduated the Naval Academy. It is every photographer’s goal to have photos that are of course pretty, but also capture memories of what was going on behind the scenes. Each photo she showed me had a story that went along with it. That is half the point of senior sessions, to make memories that goes along with the images!
When we got to the Academic building there was a large fence surrounding Sully, so closer headshots are what I focused on. This worked nicely since there were plenty of people in the plaza and would’ve cluttered up the background. After we took these photos, we started our walk over to the administration building to finish up. On the way over we got onto the topic of dinner! It was around 6 PM, and I was daydreaming about what I would be eating after the session. I found out that Pizza Fridays were the normal dinner plans for the Osborne family. It reminded me that my family used to do Pizza Mondays. There was a special deal Monday nights and Papa John’s was an easy stop on the way home! As expected, there was a wait at the Administration building… When it was our turn we acted quickly and we got some nice photos with those classic white columns!
The Obsornes are an easy going family. Conversation came naturally and they made photos a breeze. Here are a few of my favorites from the session!
