The Texas A&M Gardens is one of the most popular spots for A&M Consolidated Seniors to take their senior pictures, or homecoming and prom photos at. Central Texas isn’t known for the most glorious landscapes, but having a blooming garden with a variety of florals for most of the year, is definitely a perk! Parking here is also way easier than other places on Texas A&M’s campus. This is most likely why Skylar chose this location to celebrate her senior year at A&M Consolidated High School!
While Skylar is bubbly and adventurous, she also warned me she can be a little shy. She brought her aunt, sister, and boyfriend to her session which I think definitely helped her feel comfortable because I never got a hint of her shyness! I always encourage seniors to bring along their loved ones for this very reason. That and because I LOVE a good laughing shot (which is best done by someone who knows you really well).
Country/rustic was the vibe for this session, since that’s what Skylar loves. We started with a cute country-y look which I LOVED! When she said she had boots and a cowboy hat, I was definitely thinking it would be the traditional brown, but WOW! What a twist! I really feel like this outfit is the perfect description of her personality! I am personally a sucker for the Kendra Scott Pendant necklaces, so I was thrilled to see her sporting one around her neck .
Sadly the A&M Gardens were looking a little sad, I mean it is February in College Station, but there was a beautiful magnolia tree that give us some of the greenery Skylar wanted. Sometimes shoots are about thinking outside of the box and getting creative! After exploring the area for a little while we decided to change into her second outfit, a super cute dress she was dying to wear. The wind was starting to be a real challenge after the outfit change, but she rocked it with a huge smile and lots of laughter!
Before we headed to George Bush Library, we changed into her third outfit, a classic white dress to pair with her graduation gown! Skylar borrowed her cousin’s graduation gown for her session since hers wasn’t in yet. No biggy except for the fact that he is over 6 feet tall and the gown was a lllllllllitttttle too big. It gave everyone a little laugh, but even a well fitting graduating robe can do that.
I really enjoyed getting to know Skylar and her entourage. Nothing beats getting to hear stories about their life, family, and all sorts of stories about the school dances at the locations we visited. She also recently got accepted into Texas A&M University and will be participating in their Gateway program starting this summer. Enjoy some of my favorite shots from Skylar’s Senior Session!
