The colors are *chef’s kiss*. This area is more urban than some may like BUT with some effort, and exploration, you can have some of the best photos. Some of them you can even make look as if you’re no where near the city! I love that different sections of downtown give different vibes. For example, near Ronin it is more open and has the rural vibe, whereas the stretches near The LaSalle Hotel have that classic and energetic downtown feel with all the bricks. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that could be the perfect way to end a fun shoot or could be used IN your shoot to showcase some of your favorite things! If you are a coffee lover I would suggest Harvest Coffee Bar and if you want a delicious pizza head over to Rx Pizza.
This is the perfect mixture of nature and buildings. The pond behind the museum is very picturesque, and I love the woods behind the pond. Using the nature and the buildings can create what looks like many locations when you look through your final gallery. Even the road lead up the the George Bush Library is used for photos. Remember, to always be safe and pick up after yourself since this is a public area. This area can be even more appealing since there is free parking for the library.
Lake Walk is different than other places in Bryan or College Station. There is a big, calming lake with an observation tower over looking the lake. Next to the lake is an event pavilion with some shade and picnic tables. In addition to the peaceful nature of Lake walk has walkable shops and restaurants in the area such as POV Coffee House! Again, if you’re a coffee lover this would be the perfect addition to your gallery! Lauren with Laruen Provost Photography actually helped me with some branding photos here!
I’ve seen so many high school groups here this last year… because it’s great! The Gardens is a public garden on the west campus of Texas A&M University. My favorite time to shoot here is during the spring when all the plants start blooming! Even if the plants aren’t in bloom, the area is still maintained and other events will take place to keep the space just as lively.
If you are involved on your campus , taking photos at your school can be a wonderful option. High schoolers involved in sports (dance team, football, baseball, etc.) might want to use their field or court for photos.
Texas A&M University is a very popular place for Aggies to take their graduate photos OR High School seniors who plan to attend the university the next year. Since the campus is so large, I recommend using the building where most of your classes were held or the place you spent the most time on campus. As graduation approaches, there are a few locations that get VERY crowded so I always recommend booking early to avoid the crowds.
There are so many lovely places to take senior photos in College Station or Bryan. These seem to be the most popular areas and some of my favorites for various reasons. It is always important to choose a location based on your interest and experiences to celebrate your senior year.
